NICHE ELECTRONICS ANNOUNCES MAJOR PRODUCTION UPGRADE

New Yamaha and Vanstron Equipment Boosts Capability, Speed, Accuracy

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. — Niche Electronics, a leading electronics manufacturing services company, announced today that it has completed installation of a new Yamaha optical inspection unit and a Vanstron laser etcher at its Sarasota production facility.

With the addition of these upgrades, Niche continues to provide customers with contract manufacturing solutions that deliver significant advantages. Niche Electronics crafts high-complexity circuit board assemblies for many industries, providing services from new product introduction to volume production.

Niche’s new equipment features:

VANSTRON S-46OS-CO2 LASER ETCHER
With a maximum precision of +/- 0.015mm, this precision etcher’s laser moves to a pre-programmed position and etches predefined content like barcodes, datamatrix codes, text, or logos onto the product. The unit verifies code content with a high-resolution camera system.

YAMAHA YSI-V AUTOMATED OPTICAL INSPECTION (AOI) SYSTEM
This advanced optical inspection system examines assemblies on a microscopic scale, and offers high-speed, high-accuracy 3D inspections more rapidly and accurately than visual inspections. Defect recognition is retained and forwarded “upstream” to identify and analyze the origin of errors.

Frank Bowman, Niche CEO, noted that the new equipment is simply the most recent example of the company’s ongoing commitment to securing cutting-edge technology.

“Our latest capital investments keep Niche at the forefront of industry innovation, empowering customers to focus on product development and sustainability,” Bowman says.  “These state-of-the-art machines provide huge advantages to our customers – advanced precision, exceptional versatility, and enhanced quality.”
