NICHE ELECTRONICS ANNOUNCES EXPANSION OF FLORIDA FACILITY

Niche Electronics has announced that it will boost the production area of its Sarasota, Florida, facility by 50% and incorporate numerous upgrades. The entire project will be completed by March 31, 2025.

Niche Electronics crafts high-complexity circuit board assemblies for many industries, providing services from new product introduction to volume production. The completely renovated space in Sarasota will augment production capacity and capabilities, enabling Niche’s southernmost location to handle expected growth in the coming years.

Among the upgrades:

LARGER PRODUCTION AREA   Niche will add 10,000 square feet to its production floor, enabling the company to add volume, equipment, and employees over time.

IMPROVED DESIGN    The company will reconfigure its equipment to speed production, improve efficiency, and isolate processes to reduce foreign objects and debris. Another key upgrade: the installation of electrostatic dissipative flooring that will reduce static buildup and dissipate triboelectric charges.

ENHANCED INFRASTRUCTURE   Niche will add all new 208- and 480-volt supply to the space, new HVAC units that will enhance environmental controls, and LED lighting that will improve visibility and lower energy costs.

Frank Bowman, CEO of Niche, said the expansion and complete overhaul will enable the company to continue expanding service in the region; in particular, to its critical aerospace customers.

“We’ve essentially doubled our production area, which sends a strong signal about our commitment to the region and to enhancing our systems and our capacity,” Bowman said. “Moving into the near future, Niche will continue to take advantage of strategic opportunities for growth.”

Bowman added that the significant upgrades in its Florida facility reflect a key to the company’s success: responsiveness to customers and prospects.

Niche maintains redundant sites in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Florida, enabling the company to shift production in the event of service interruptions. The three strategically located facilities also give Niche an optimal geographical reach, enabling personalized service to hundreds of high-tech customers within a three-hour drive.
