A WINNING LINEUP – NEW YAMAHA TECHNOLOGY: OUR INVESTMENT IN YOUR FUTURE

By Frank Bowman, CEO, Niche Electronics

It’s here.

Niche Electronics is excited to announce the installation of Yamaha’s newest SMT lineup at our Pennsylvania production facility.

By partnering with Yamaha on this huge upgrade – comprising five machines that are now fully functional and ready to handle your project – Niche provides customers with a full-line solution that delivers significant advantages.

With Yamaha’s built-in software, our team can write one program that operates each distinct machine — a faster process resulting in fewer errors. The all-in-one system also enables us to identify and flow back errors all the way through the automated line, further streamlining production.

Let’s explore the benefits of each element of our new Yamaha SMT lineup:

YAMAHA YRP10 PREMIUM PRINTER: SUPERIOR ACCURACY

This high-speed, high-quality printer offers automatic setups and changeovers while supporting both single- and dual-lane production. Key features:

  • Adjustable blade angle allows incremental adjustments of one degree
  • Stencil vacuum mechanism eliminates Y-axis shift
  • Proper paste release removes pressure from the stencil
  • Side snug PCB fixturing allows ultra flat printing of the entire PCB surface

Bottom line:  Advanced precision and speed offer compressed production timeframes and superior quality

YAMAHA YRM20 PICK & PLACE MACHINE:  VERSATILITY AND QUALITY

Niche installed three of these superior surface mounters to deliver flexibility and range. Design and technology blend in several key elements:

  • Ultra high-volume feeder capacity – over 350 part numbers
  • 15mm maximum height on high-speed HM heads provides ideal line balancing
  • Next-level handling, with force control insertion for press fit components and 30mm Z height range for FM flexible head
  • Automated vacuum nozzle blow-out feature prevents debris from clogging heads

Bottom line:  Exceptional flexibility, capable of producing complex designs of the highest quality

YAMAHA YRI-V AOI SYSTEM: SETTING A NEW STANDARD

This advanced optical inspection system offers high-speed, high-accuracy 3D inspections. Cutting-edge technology delivers an array of benefits:

  • Four-way oblique imaging inspections and a 20-megapixel, four-angle camera, and OCR-enhanced recognition provide granular level of detail
  • Super high-speed (56.8cm²/sec) 3D inspections keep projects on schedule
  • Specialized analytic software paretos defects
  • Defect recognition flows upstream to identify the origin of every defect; AI facilitated component generates library of data

Bottom line:    Greatly enhanced quality, reduced waste, superior data capture
