Investment Matters

A company’s equipment and processes says a lot about its chances for success

In the rapidly advancing world of miniaturization, and the call for increasingly complex assemblies across different industries, companies are only able to get so far with outdated equipment.

Forward-thinking companies understand that, as fast as the marketplace is evolving, they must be just a bit faster, and just a bit smarter at investing in the right equipment and processes.

It’s what separates Niche Electronics from its competitors. Here are just a few examples of how Niche is staying ahead of industry expectations:

New vapor degreasing process and equipment in Pennsylvania: This process quickly gets into tight spaces and removes organic contamination like oils, greases, and flux from board surfaces so that later steps can bond and perform properly.

Ultrasonic welding added in Massachusetts: In wire harness manufacturing, this rapid welding joins wires to each other or to terminals by creating a solid-state bond with no solder or flux.

Laser serialization: Niche added this process to its facility in Florida. It marks each board with a permanent, unique identifier by eroding solder or marking the laminate or a label with a laser. That identifier becomes the key that ties the physical board to all of its manufacturing data including testing information and rework history. Niche has plans to make a similar investment in its Pennsylvania location.

Redundant wave solder machines: To support the capabilities of its multi-location set-up, Niche has added this equipment, the leading process of one-pass, high-volume soldering through-hole components, in both Pennsylvania and Florida

New cable room equipment: As another example of supporting a multi-location set-up, Niche is adding Schleuniger MultiStrip 9480M, and multiple TE crimp presses to expand its capacity in Florida.

Niche is committed to evolving its capabilities right along with its customers, the market place, and emerging technologies. If you’ve got questions about the work we’re doing, reach out to us via this link. We’ll get back to you within 24 hours.

Experience Counts

Niche Electronics’s original owners and founders came from an industrial motor control company where they gained a background in the design and manufacture of industrial inverters. That experience provided a wealth of valuable knowledge around high power, thermal management and a number of other real-world applications.

Strength in Diversity

When it comes to an overarching business strategy, EMS providers have to make one critical decision: diversification or specialization? From the very beginning, Niche Electronics has chosen to diversify, and that continues to serve customers well in different industries, and across a wide range of products.
